We’re quickly approaching the year-end rush

We’re quickly approaching the year-end rush - that frantic, heads-down place where everyone’s buried in deadlines and the pressure can seem unrelenting.

It’s like we all step into the Task Cave. A place where light dims, focus tightens and connection fades.

And our brains don’t help us: the more they focus on the task, the less they focus on the relationship.

That’s the problem. Because while we’re in the Task Cave, our stakeholder relationships quietly drift - pulled by the strong currents of November and December.

And when you take relationship hits in December, they tend to echo into January.

You’ll notice it. Without those strong stakeholder relationships:

📉 Decisions slow down - because clarity gets lost in the rush.

⚠️ Friction builds - because stress amplifies small misunderstandings.

💰 Opportunities slip - because there’s no space left for the right conversations.

🔥 Leaders firefight - because relationships have drifted out of sync.

That’s why now — before the Christmas crunch — is the time to refocus on stakeholder relationships.

Even when the Task Cave beckons.

Maybe especially then.

Strong relationships don’t happen by accident. And they don’t require Herculean effort either. Small, intentional acts of connection matter. A lot.

So, how will you and the team fight stakeholder drift over the next few months?

What small steps will make a difference?
