"Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: 'What! You too? I thought I was the only one!'" - C.S. Lewis
Lewis captures something we often overlook at work.
Connection thrives in those moments where we realise that there’s something shared between us. It could be a perspective, an experience or maybe even a goal.
In that “What! You too?” moment, connection sparks and grows.
It’s a moment where, behind the polish and professionalism, there’s a glimpse of something a bit more human. A bit more real.
Do you notice those moments?
Do you create them?
In a session this week on Commercial Curiosity, we explored how curiosity builds bridges with our stakeholders.
It’s needed, right? Because when we look across the landscape at work, we can’t help but see silos. Silos that risk creating an inherent us and them dynamic.
Leaning into curiosity with our stakeholders is how - plank by plank - we build a bridge that connects us, both professionally and personally.
It’s how we move from noticing to understanding, and from understanding to trust.
A little curiosity can go a long way.
