At this time of year, it’s easy to get a little overwhelmed by what we have yet to achieve - how far we still have to go. That’s The GAP.
It can cause us to falter.
To stall.
To lose traction.
But there’s another perspective.
Instead of measuring against an ever-moving ideal, what if we measured against where we started? That’s The GAIN. It appreciates the progress that we’ve made. It’s a perspective that fuels:
✅ Confidence - as we witness our progress
😊 Happiness - as we celebrate what we have achieved
🚀 Momentum – creating a sense of movement
💪 Resilience – reinforcing belief through past wins
🔋 Energy – shifting focus from frustration to progress
As Dan Sullivan and Dr. Benjamin Hardy explain in their book The Gap and the Gain, the Gain is where progress lives. It’s where momentum builds - and where we approach the future with greater optimism because we see just how far we’ve come.
So as we get into the year, here’s a question for you:
👉 How are you tracking your wins?
