If you and “no” went to couples therapy… what would come up?

Frustration? Tears? Smiles? A slightly weary sideways glance?

How is your relationship with “no” these days?

The health of that relationship is worth exploring, because how you handle “no” will shape the trajectory of your career, your influence and your relationships - both at home and work.

I’m unpacking this with a team in a few hours in a session called: The Conviction of No.

It’s about reframing our relationship with “no”, turning it into an asset for our commercial conversations. A tool that - when used well - brings clarity, protects what matters and builds trust.

But back to you and “no”.

Maybe it’s time to DTR - Define the Relationship.

Take a moment to consider the patterns in your relationship.

⏵ What tends to happen when you approach moments of hearing “no”?

⏵ What plays out when you need to say it?

⏵ Are those patterns working for you?

Could it be time to work on your relationship with "no"?

Like any good relationship, it takes work - but it's worth it.
