What are you spotlighting?

This was the setup for one of a series of Masterclasses I ran this morning with a group of professionals focused on their commercial influence. 


Lots of lights. Lots of screens. But the spotlight was actually on something else.


We explored the role of perception: how preoccupation poisons it, how assumptions bend it, and how passivity dulls it.


This matters because what we see drives what we do. 


And we looked at the power of asking Spotlight Questions.


Because questions are more than conversation tools - they’re attention tools. In the same way that a spotlight directs the eyes, a good question directs the mind. 


It directs attention. And that makes a good question one of the most potent tools a leader or influencer has. 


With the right Spotlight Question, we can not only influence ourselves, we can influence others.
